Calm Down Little One

As tears fall down the baby's face,
Mama holds her tight, with the gentlest grace.
She tries so hard to calm her tears,
To let her know there is nothing to fear.
She tells the baby it will be all right,
Papa will be home, not far from tonight.
As the baby girl continues to cry,
Mama sings a song that begins with a sigh.

"Calm down little one,
There is nothing to fear,
Calm down little one,
For safety is here.
Calm down little one,
While you are so young.
Calm down little one,
For Mama has sung.
Calm down little one,
There is nothing to fear,
Calm down little one,
For safety is here."

The baby looks at Mama with big brown eyes
And sees a tear flow down her cheek side.
Why her Mama cries, the baby does not know,
Why does she continue the circle of tear flow.
The two sit close together for a little while.
And soon the Mama begins to smile.
She doesn't know why she cries,
For all she needs is the love of her baby's eyes.
Mama whispers "I love you",
The baby smiles, she loves her to.
