LET IT GO

As the little boy climbs upon her knee
His mother looked down at him and said what do you need?
The boy looked up with sadness in his eyes
He said that boy hit me and began to cry.
The mother looked at her son with concern
Hiding his head in her dress,
He said tell me the truth, I want revenge
What should I do?
The mother thought for a moment and then said,
Honey you've been wronged.
What the boy did to you was injustice.
But why continue hate,
When you can create Happiness and love?
That boy needs some help.
But don't destroy his hope,
Let that flame inside him glow.
Even though he blew out yours,
You can relight it and soar.
I'm not saying forgive and forget I'm just saying let it go.
Because then you'll know
That you have the strength To walk the length.
The boy was silent for a moment
Then he said, mother I understand you
Thanks for telling me what's true.
Twenty-five years later, mama's little boy is all grown up,
his five year old son came running home.
Sobbing with emotional pain.
His dad said son, what happened today?
The boy frowned and said they picked on me.
I hate them and to them I will be mean.
His father said, boy yu've been wronged.
But why continue hate,
When you can create,
Happiness and love?
I'm not saying forgive and forget,
I'm just saying let it go.
Because then you'll know,
That you have the strength,
To walk the length.
Boy, just let it go.
