Remember to Surrender

When things get tough,
And when life gets rough,
When there seems to be no escape,
And nothing to nourish you, not even a grape.
When it seems the world has turned it's back on you
And every promise seems so untrue,
This is when my words mean most
Calm yourself down and do not boast.
But most of all give your Higher Power a call
And remember to surrender.

When every cloud seems to be gray,
And you have no reason left to play,
When there is no sun here or there,
And no one lends a hand or sign of care,
When there seems no way to cope,
This is when I simply say, close your eyes,
Take a deep breath and pray,
And remember to surrender.

Though you try time after time,
And there is no sign of help, not even a dime,
Please don't give up,
Because the cake will be cut
Do no give up hope,
Because soon there will be a rope.
It will fall from the sky,
And when you grab hold, you will fly high,
And all the answers will come to you,
And you will see the dreams come true.
Remember to surrender.
