After my husband was laid off for 6 months, several people thought I had become a walking resource book.

While there were times, when I harbored the thought of giving up and breaking down, overall I fought to stay above the water.

I had to give up a lot of pride and ask for help, but eventually we came through, and now I can be the one helping others again.

I am compiling true stories of people, who have overcome life’s challenges such as major financial set backs, illness, loss,etc. in the creation of a book that I know will help others to see the light at the end of their tunnel

(Laughing at Challenges) is currently being shopped around to find the perfect publishing match. In the meantime, we are open for submissions.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Your story of 1000 - 3000 words must be TRUE,
based on real people and actual experiences.
Submissions must be original (created by the Author, not derived from other work).

Unpublished material is preferred, but we will accept material for which the Author owns all rights and that has been previously published or is pending publication in a serial publication (magazine, newsletter) or online. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. If the story is subsequently selected, the Author must at that time disclose
any other pending publication of the story.

Submissions must be written in English and must include:
* Full name
* Mailing address
* Phone number
* Email address
* Personal website URL (if applicable)
* Word count
* Copyright date
* Submission date
* Rights currently retained by Author

If the story has been or will be published elsewhere, please provide the title of the story as published, the name of the publication, the publisher, the publication date,
and the type of publication (i.e., print book, ezine, literary journal, etc.).

Copy & paste or type the submission into the body of the email. Please, no formatted text, no colored type or backgrounds, and no attachments. One story per email.

A Publishing agreement will be issued to all finalists. No story will be published without the knowledge and consent of the Author, as indicated by return of a fully executed
(signed and dated) publishing agreement.

HAWK retains the right to fact-check, modify, abridge, edit, rewrite, and re-title any material. Authors should be prepared to verify authenticity and accuracy of story.
Stories MUST be about real events.

Contributors receive a generous bio and one complimentary copy of the book.
